After the Exam
Understanding Your Score
How Scores Are Reported
Your results are reported as scaled scores based on a clearly defined passing standard. This scoring system ensures fairness and consistency across all administrations of the examination. A passing score confirms that you have demonstrated the minimum level of competency required for safe and effective practice.
Score Availability: Scores are released on scheduled dates and can be accessed online through the Score Release Dates page.
Access Your Score: Log in to your candidate portal at Meazure Connect to view and download your official scores.
- Passing Standard: A scale score of 75 represents the minimum standard of professional practice required to pass.
- Criterion-Referenced Scoring: Scores are not graded on a curve; performance is measured against established standards of competence rather than the performance of other candidates.
- Diagnostic Indicators:
- Below the level of minimum competence
- At or above the level of minimum competence
- Score Reporting: NBPME provides examination results to candidates, schools, CASPR, and FPMB.
- Exam Attempts: NBPME does not limit the number of examination attempts; however, individual state licensing boards may impose their own restrictions.
Additional Information: For further details regarding score interpretation and examination policies, please refer to the Policies & Procedures Manual.
